You can't see us very well, but that is Patrica and I in her Vis-a-Vie, being pulled by "Bonnie", a beautiful Belgian. Every Saturday following Thanksgiving, the Chamber of Commerce in town puts on a Christmas Parade, with Santa pulling up the rear. Patricia and I threw "Beanie Babies" to the crowd and ended up being swarmed!

WE DO! This little guy's name is Petrie (sounds like "pea-tree") and he is the best ferret ever. He belongs to my daughter, has free roam of the house, and eagerly comes out to visit. He'll let Stephanie take him for baby carriage rides and he will lay on you forever and a day. Unlike other ferrets who are not happy to lay still. Petrie is a joy to hold and play with!
Speaking of Jen, Gracie thinks Jen is fun to play with. Helping her with morning chores in her pen is top on her list of fun things to do!

And no, we won't be eating the turkeys! Actually, we don't eat anybody around here. The only thing that earns their keep are the chickens. Chore Kitty never misses an opportunity to help out. She is a constant, every morning, despite the weather, tagging along hoping for a scratch. Olivia (the pig) likes a good scratch too! Today was cold with a light rain/snow mix, our first of the season. We have had such nice fall weather and I hope the trend continues as we head into the winter months.
I will be home tomorrow, as my oven has conveniently died, just one week before the biggest meal of the year. After pricing new ones, I have decided to let an appliance guy have a try at it first. Never one to do things the easy way, the stove is "built in", thereby making access a project in and of itself. I can barely wait to see what has collected behind there for the last 16 years!

On the way home from visiting Kristy this weekend, we stopped at Mr. Anderson's Farm in Stanton, MI. What a delightful stop! There is a cider mill on the farm and you can have cider and donuts while visiting with emus, camels, and reindeer!
Camels are BIG. We weren't sure to smooch up to them or not, but everyone was truly sweet. I now have camels, emus, and reindeer on my Christmas list.

Caylie, Stephanie, Derek, Brandon, and Michael strike a pose!
With a full night of trick-or-treating and the haunted house to boot, it was an evening full of fun and fright. We are all up to our ears in sugar coated everything and I am sure we'll pay for it in the next couple of days!
