Snakes and snails and puppy dog tails.

My neighbor kid, God bless him, will pick up anything. This snake even bit him (yes, that is blood on his finger) and yet he still ran over to show me his latest find. (The boy's friend in the background is thinking, "Who are these people?") One time he had a styrofoam cup with his hand over the top. Asked me if I wanted to see something. OK, I fell for it. He removed his hand and a big hairy spider the size of a volkswagon jumped out of the cup and right at me. Eliciting a scream to wake the dead, I nearly jumped out of my skin. Getting quite a kick out of that, with a big ol' grin he picked up his spider and looked for his next show and tell opportunity. Watch out for this kid. He is never far from an arachnid or reptile.

Doctor Loren Burlingame, DVM, and his faithful companion Brady.

Dear Dr. Burlingame,
You have helped me welcome new life and guided me to care for my sick and injured. You have grieved with me over lives lost. Thank you for your heart of compassion, your gentle hands, your kind words. God bless you as you retire and begin a new chapter in your life. I wish you all the best!

Forever grateful,
Donna Claar

When the phone rings at 6 AM, you know something is up. "Good Morning", said my neighbor, "She's in labor". I knew who "she" was immediatley, rustled up the boys and ran across the street to the barn. Inside, lit only by a kerosine lantern, stood my neighbor Kimberly, all 4 of her kids, and momma goat. Sure enough, a few hoof tips appeared, followed by a head and within minutes we had baby number one, a little girl. I quickly toweled her off, making sure her airway was free of mucus as momma licked her clean as well. She let out a little baa and took in her new surroundings.

It wasn't long, and baby number two made his entrance. He was a bit bigger, with some pretty long legs. Momma goat did terrific and the babies are doing great. No matter how many births I attend, I am always amazed at the miracle of it all. This blessed event had me smiling all day!Cimg1643

It's a boy!

My neighbors, Ron and Chickie, were blessed with a new addition so they called me down to come meet him. What a sweetheart! At only three days old, he is very friendly and nuzzles you, allowing you to shower him with love and kisses. Mom was super sweet too, allowing me to be close up to her beautiful baby!
