Patricia Polacco presents “Meteor Festival! 2009”
Cancellation of Patricia Polacco’s “Meteor Festival” 2009
Due to the sudden and tragic death of dear friend and co-coordinator, DeeDee Foley, the Meteor Festival for July 11, 2009 has been cancelled. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused for those of you planning a visit to our little town. We are truly saddened by the loss of our friend and due to the circumstances surrounding her death; we are unable to proceed with the festival for this year.
Those of you who may have attended in the past may remember DeeDee as the “bumble bee” in the “Bee Tree Race” as well as the vibrant and energetic teacher who ran the Graves House.

What would you do if a meteor landed on your family’s farm?
Why, you’d write a book about it and host a Meteor Festival, that’s what you’d do!
Famed children’s author and illustrator, Patricia Polacco, is hosting this annual event, which will include home tours and several book signing opportunities. Patricia’s home, Meteor Ridge Farm, her Art Studio, and the GAW Center for the Arts will all be open for tour. In addition, visit the “The Graves Family’s” home that Patricia has written two books now about her very odd neighbors, Doug and Shalleux Graves.
Books are always available at the famous "Hensley’s Variety Store", located in downtown Union City. Come join Patricia for a presentation of "Tales and Talk", lots of entertainment, horse drawn carriage rides, clowns, music, and more in her beloved home town of Union City, Michigan!
